Turnpike Widening from North of Exit 8, in Nashua, to South of Exit 10 in Merrimack”

Recent Activities – As of early November 2024

• Northbound
– Milling, paving, and drainage work in the median in preparation for Phase 2 traffic shift south of the Pennichuck Brook bridge.

• Southbound
– No work at this area.

• Exit 10
– Constructed temporary northbound off-ramp.
– Began demolition of toll tunnels.

• Pennichuck Brook Bridge
– The 180-day settlement period is on-going.

Upcoming Work – November 2024 to December 2024

• Northbound
– Finish paving and striping south of the Pennichuck Brook bridge and place traffic in Phase 2 TCP configuration.
– Begin tree clearing.
– Continue Phase 2 mainline drainage and widening work.

• Southbound
– Begin Tree Clearing

• Exit 10
– Continue demolition of the toll plaza tunnel.

General Traffic Implications

• Fall 2024
– Rolling roadblocks, shoulder closures and night work, as needed, for temporary roadwork, as traffic allows.
