Turnpike Widening from North of Exit 8, in Nashua, to South of Exit 10 in Merrimack”

Recent Activities – As of early July 2024

• Northbound – The turbidity curtains have been deployed in Bowers Pond for the southern portion of the causeway.
– Placing of the modified class B fill material has begun.
– The shoulder shim has been completed and it has been striped for the phase 1 traffic alignment.

• Southbound – The southbound shoulder has been shimmed and temporary guardrail installation and adjustment has been completed.

• Exit 10 – No work at this area.

Upcoming Work – July 2024 to August 2024

• Northbound – Ongoing placement of stone in the southern causeway.
– Deployment of the turbidity curtains for the northern causeway.
– Begin installation of the median portable concrete barrier to start the median work in phase 1 traffic control.

• Southbound – Completion of the guardrail work and striping for the phase 1 traffic alignment.
– Begin installation of the median portable concrete barrier to start the median work in phase 1 traffic control.
• Exit 10 – No work at this area.

General Traffic Implications

• Summer 2024 – Rolling roadblocks, shoulder closures and night work, as needed, for temporary roadwork, as traffic allows.
