Turnpike Widening near NH 101/I-293 Interchange
Recent Activities – As of mid-September 2023
• Northbound
– Placed temporary barrier and attenuators for Phase 2 traffic configuration– Planted 23 trees along berm near I-293 SB off ramp
• Southbound
– Installed bituminous curb on NH 101 EB ramp to FEET SB– Fine graded and paved between NH 101 ramps and EB ramp to FEET SB and installed guardrail and end sections
– Installed new pavement and pavement markings for Phase 2 traffic configuration from NH 101 WB to FEET SB on ramp to south end of project
– Placed temporary barriers for Phase 2 traffic configuration and switched traffic
– Removed temporary ramps from Phase 1 traffic configuration
• NB and SB
– Began removal of median barriers in preparation for installation of new drainage pipes– Continued placement of humus and hydroseeding operations adjacent to both roadways
– Filled existing box culvert (cattle crossing previously abandoned)
Upcoming Work – September 2023 to October 2023
• Northbound
– Continue placing temporary barrier along mainline and switch traffic to Phase 2 traffic configuration – Continue installing new signs and applying humus and seeding – Begin adjusting drainage structures and other drainage work• Southbound
– Continue placing temporary barrier and temporary striping along mainline for anticipated traffic shift– Switch traffic to Phase 2 traffic configuration
