Turnpike Widening near NH 101/I-293 Interchange
Recent Activities – As of early July 2024
• Northbound and Southbound
– Completed placing shoulder gravel.– Completed Rumble Strips.
– Installed guardrail in front of berm for wood fence on south end FEET SB.
– Completed concrete pour for 101W off to FEET SB on ramp island.
– Installed ROW fences, Chain link fence around ITS tower and 10 ft. high wood fence on top of berm FEET SB.
– Pier protection concrete caps and remaining sand/pea-stone fill between end walls for pier protection completed. – Retroreflective Median Barrier Delineators installed. – Completed first layer of final striping. – Completed installation of Antenna mounting Structure Tower. – Started vacuum cleaning drainage structures. – Hydroseeded remaining areas that were loamed.
Upcoming Work – July 2024 to August 2024
• Northbound and Southbound
– Complete installing remaining post mounted delineators.– Continue adding remaining ROW fences and 10 ft. high fence on top of berm FEET SB.
– Continue work on remaining components of ITS Antenna Tower, Motor Vehicle Detection System (MVDS), and Dynamic Message Sign (DMS).
– Install bridge mounted sign and relocate existing bridge mounted sign.
– Install second layer of final striping.
– Continue work on punch list items.
General Traffic Implications
• Summer 2024
– All three NB and SB lanes open to traffic– Shoulder and lane closures as needed for minor work
